I emerged (-u) latest hsflinmodem which previously was working for me, but after solved the config files under /etc and running "# hsfconfig" I get the following (error) result:
Code: | Warning: existing HSF modules found under /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/misc/
Would you like to keep using them? [no]
This package does not contain pre-built modules suitable for your system:

Kernel arch: i686
Kernel version: linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r10
Trying to automatically re-compile the modules..
(this requires a C compiler and proper kernel sources to be installed)
Where is the linux source build directory that matches your running kernel?

The cause of this problem is an incorrect kernel source path.
Please check that /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r10/build points to the right tree.
The cause of this problem is usually a missing or misconfigured

Please examine the log file "/tmp/hsfconfig-buildlog.txt" to determine why. |
I have an idea of what this is, in the sense as I'm running unstable (gcc 3.2.1-r6), but don't know how to deal with or solve it. I have a similar issue whit Vmware which also don't find any gcc when running the config script. Everything else seam to have no problem finding gcc and compile flowlessly.
What do I have to do? re-emerge the sources and recompile kernel or is such drastic move not nessesarry/useless?
The errorlog result mentioned above goes:
Code: | /bin/sh: line 1: gcc: command not found

I would be grateful for any input in possible resolving this before I go ahead and possibly crash completely by recompiling kernel etc. _________________ /Joakim

gcc-3.2.1-r6 is still very beta... I've seen other problems related to it. I'd advise to go back to 3.2.1 _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

Yes I realize it's very beta and should be masked really. Went back to 3.2.1-r1 and solved it, also my vmware config issues. _________________ /Joakim

I had a similar problem about programs not finding gcc. I simply did "env-update && source /etc/profile". Everything seems to be working fine now. _________________ Postcount ++ |
