hi,
sorry for such a lame question, but what are the differences between the two kernels: vanilla-sources and development-sources that are in portage? aren't they both the original kernel sources from www.kernel.org?

Vanilla-sources is the latest 2.4 kernel; development-sources is the latest mainline (2.6) kernel release.
And yes, they are essentially the tarballs from kernel.org. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
