Xprint not working

I can't make Xprint work on my system. Firefox and Thunderbird are compiled with xprint USE flag enabled. So is Xorg 6.8.2.

The 'xplsprinters' command outputs: '_X11TransSocketINETConnect() can't get address for HPLJ6@:6064: Name or service not known'

The '/etc/init.d/xprint lsprinters' command outputs:
'printer: HPLJ6P@:64
printer: xp_ps_spooldir_tmp_Xprintjobs@:64
printer: xp_pdf_spooldir_tmp_Xprintjobs@:64'

The $XPSERVERLIST env var echos: "HPLJ6P@:64" (HPLJ6P is my printer's name with CUPS).
I tried setting the above env var as "HPLJ6P@darkstar:64"(darkstar is my hostname) in my .xinitrc, but the result is the same. It still echos "HPLJ6P@:64"

I suspect there's some issue with access rights, but 'xhost +" did nothing, neither did shutting down my firewall.
