I have a DVD RW drive and it works fine in Windows. I just emerged ogle to try and play DVDs but when i run ogle at the command line I get:
Code: |
libdvdread: Can't stat /dev/dvd
No such file or directory
ERROR[ogle_nav]: faild to open/read the DVD
|
indeed i don't have a /dev/dvd, which i assume means i compiled my kernel without DVD support. am i on the right track? i look through 'make menuconfig' (kernel 2.6.10) but I couldn't find anything about DVD support. where is it buried?
thanks,

The DVDs are not at that location. Most of the time they are seen as regular CDROMS and should be at the /dev/cdroms/cdrom(x). X is a number depending on how many you have in your system, I have two DVD Writers, once IDE and one USB. |

Alot of programs are looking for /dev/dvd, like DVDRIP, but you should change it to fit your system. It is much easier to change the app to look in the right place. |
