Does anybody know how to make valid certificates for an apache server when running on a secure line?. My server works fine with the test certificate from apache, but want to make my own if it is possible?. And if, how do i do it? |

Well if you don't happen to be a CA yourself you'll have to buy one
I don't want to recommend a CA here. Check your browser for a comprehensive list. For konqueror click Settings -> Crypto -> SSL signers tab (parhaps you need to scroll the tabs). Check their websites for pricing and service. Once you have chosen a CA they will provide you with the neccessary details on how to proceed if you are running apache for instance.

Hej
You can certainly use OpenSSL to generate certificates yourself just google for "openssl pkcs12 CA.pl" or something like that
Have fun

you can self sign certificates but they won't be trusted by anyone. If you are running a service it's worth getting yourself a certifacte they start at around $20 per year |

Godaddy has them for $30. I've also heard that they are giving them away to open source projects.
I would not bother with freessl since they are not a widely recognized root CA. No better than making your own certificate.
