Looking on the BASC page, there are only 77 x86_64 systems registered... Surely there are more of us than that? So...

Code:
emerge basc
basc -u

... and get yourself counted!

Basically I am curious as to how many people are using the x86_64. Just be nice to know.

Rob.

I think its a nice idea to know how many of us out there but I get the following error when I try to update the basc database:

Code:
Is it ok for me to transfer this data to gentoo-stats.org?

OK, I registered. ;-) However, I was only able to to that from one of my Gentoo boxes (the AMD64 one, and that's good), on the other it complains I should re-emerce gcc. I'll do that later.

Registered too. Now we are already 83 (or 7.46 % of the 1113).

@AngelM: Change this to
Code:
CPU_FREQ = int(CPU_FREQ)/1000

I just registered also. I was unaware of basc, I think that's the bigger reason so few systems are registered. I'm sure there are plenty of gentooites that would love to be counted if they knew.

I must admit, I only knew about it because I read the Gentoo Newsletter every week...

I am sure there is something in the docs about what you can choose to send or not send.

Doing well so far... gone from just 77 to 110...

Quite a few of us using gentoo on amd64 processors then, which is of course good to hear.

Well as of 17:15 on 25/01/2005, UK, there were 144 x86_64 systems... we've doubled it!

Easy. Just do an "emerge basc", and then run basc. Any doubt dont hesitate to ask.
