I've updated it from xfree (btw: why xfree ebuild changed its name to xorg-x11-4.3.0, only wersion names differ?) and after thousands of painful restarts I'm able to use Firefox to write this post.
Xorg failed to use my old-but-tested xfree conf, so I used xorgconfig (or whatever it's called) to generate it and then manually edited.
Fonts: I leave them for a while cuz there're more important things I want to ask about. They just look ugly...
Glx: No problem configuring it under xfree, but not it does not work.
Mouse: It's a 'standard' ps/2 opitical 2-button+a wheel mouse. Works but without the wheel.

Fragment of my xorg.conf:
Code:

Section "Module"

Load        "dbe"     # Double buffer extension

    SubSection  "extmod"
Option    "omit xfree86-dga"   # don't initialise the DGA extension
    EndSubSection

    Load        "type1"
    Load        "speedo"
    Load        "freetype"
    Load        "xtt"
#    Load   "glx"
#    Load   "GLcore"
   Load  "extmod"
   Load  "fbdevhw"
#    Load       "glx"
    Load       "dri"
Commented dri all Gl-stuff, cuz otherwise cannot get into X (system locks - actually not locks, but I'm left without access to my mouse and keyboard).

Code:
Section "InputDevice"

# Identifier and driver

    Identifier   "Mouse1"
    Driver   "mouse"
    Option "Protocol"    "PS/2"
    Option "Device"      "/dev/psaux"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
    Option "Buttons" "3"

The last option was added just before, didn't need that before.

Code:
Chipset   "i810"
Driver     "i810"

Code:
Section "Device"
   Identifier  "video"
   Driver      "i810"
   VideoRam    32768
EndSection

EndSection

Code:
Section "dri"
   Group        0
   Mode         0666
EndSection

So what's no right. Did I missed sth?
Thanx for suggestions.

[edit: some more info added]

Mouse wheel is now working (I'm using a deffirent type of mouse so needed to adjust the config).
But the direct render/glx module problem is still unsolved.

Ok the problem is solved for now. I needed to change a line in xorg.conf in section Modules:

Code:
Section "Module"
Load        "dbe"     # Double buffer extension

    SubSection  "extmod"
Option    "omit xfree86-dga"   # don't initialise the DGA extension
    EndSubSection

    Load        "type1"
    Load        "speedo"
    Load        "freetype"
    Load        "xtt"
#    Load   "glx"
#    Load   "GLcore"
   Load  "extmod"
   Load  "fbdevhw"
    Load       "dri"

Chould be:

Code:
Section "Module"
Load        "dbe"     # Double buffer extension

    SubSection  "extmod"
 #     Option    "omit xfree86-dga"   # don't initialise the DGA extension
    EndSubSection

    Load        "type1"
    Load        "speedo"
    Load        "freetype"
    Load        "xtt"
    Load   "glx"
    Load   "GLcore"
    Load  "extmod"
    Load  "fbdevhw"
    Load       "dri"

As you see
Code:
Option    "omit xfree86-dga"

line must be commented out, otherwise cannot load glx module.
