...after "emerge --usepkg kde" I try to issue "startkde command but it give me "kpersonalizer: cannot connect to X" error ..please help thanks

/etc/rc.conf:

DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"
XSESSION="kde"

/etc/init.d/xdm start

ps: of course you have to configure X first!
