Hi,
on lm Laptop (Asus M6800N) i've installed the acpi4asus-tools to use the Hardware buttons. But after a reboot i have to restart the ACPID to get it to react to acpi-events from the hardware. Without restarting, i get the events, too, but acpi does nothing...
Anyone some ideas?? _________________ Greets,

Are the event/action files for acpid generated on the fly for some reason? acpid has to be restarted if files change. |

I'm experiencing the same problem on a Dell Inspirion 8600.
The event actions in my case are not generated on the fly, but are modeled after the default install script. once the system has fully booted, I log in as root and issue "/etc/init.d/acpi restart" and everything is better. I've spent the last two weeks trying to find a way to restart this daemon automagically after boot, but with no results.
Once restarted the thing processes as expected.
Now, if I dont restart the daemon, and hit the power button the system issues a shutdown command, which is the same as is in the default script.
Just based on behaviour, I would guess that there is a default script somewhere that is loaded initially, and on restart the custom scripts are being loaded. (this is my programmer hat talking, but not having time to look at the code I can't be sure) |
