I just got Gentoo compiled and installed and I emerged ati-drivers and gnome along with a few other programs but when I type startx, it loads OK but the mouse does not work. I've got two mice, a synaptics touchpad that came with my laptop and a USB optical mouse, what do I need to do to get those one of those to work? |

Hi,
You need to set up xorg.conf properly to find your mouse. Since I have no idea what kernel you're using or whether you're using udev/devfs etc. I can't be sure what you need to set things to. Also you need to have the relevant USB bits and bobs going, like hotplug et al.....is there a howto anywhere that someone can suggest?
Cheers,

You should use 'fglrxconfig' to generate the xorg.conf. |
