Hi,

I've got a weird problem.
I've reinstalled gentoo and tried to get xorg with the ati-drivers working.
I can do startx, run glxgears just fine, but as soon as I hit ctrl-alt-backspace the screen goes black and the pc doesn't react anymore (ctrl-alt-f1, ctrl-alt-del or ctrl-alt-backspace don't do anything).

My setup:
xorg 6.8.0-r4
ati-drivers-8.8.25-r1
latest gentoo-dev-sources with udev and nptl
asus p4pe board with intel i845 chipset
ati radeon 9700

I've completely disabled framebuffer support because in the gentoo-ati-faq it said this could be the cause, but it didn't help.
I've tried the kernel agp drivers and the ati-driver's internal ones, both caused the same behaviour.

I'd really be happy for any ideas, I don't know what else to do :(.
If you think any logs or dmesg outputs would be useful please tell me.

bye,
Michael
