Bonjour, je cherchais à activer le support XVIdeo Motion Compensation , xvmc avec mplayer.
Alors j'ai bien +xvmc et +nvidia dans mon USE, et d'ailleurs, le -vo xvmc fonctionne bien dans la mesure ou j'ai un

Cependant, avec -vc ffmpg12 ou sans, enfin dans tous les cas je reçois l'erreur :

Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

Aucun package ne nécessite une recompil pour soit le nvidia, soit le xvmc. mplayer, par ailleurs fonctionne correctement, avec un vo traditionnel.
Autre idée, probablement la source du problème est le résultat de xdpyinfo:

Il n'y a pas l'extension XVideoMotionCompensation ? Je pense que ceci est la vraie source du problème, mais alors pourquoi ? Qu'ai je loupé ? ou est ce ma carte (Geforce 2 MX) qui ne le supporte pas ?

j'étais tombé en cherchant sur certains de ces liens, et en fait, il me semble que tout est en règle, meme le Xorg qui fait un joli

au démarrage.
Je viens de trouver, je pense, la solution. Il se trouve que le genre de compensation matérielle induite par le XvMC est celle des Geforce 4 et supérieures, et donc pas la pseudo compensation des GF2MX.
Comme ca, le problème est réglé
