Has anyone else noticed higher temps on their Nvidia 6800 's than in windows and Does the nvidia-settings get the core temp from the same place windows does?
I'm running high 60s C while in X and it jumps to just over 70 C while running glxgears.
BTW I my card runs about 59 C in windows while not running games. |

These are average temps for this card. The temps from both windows and linux should be similer, not exact. 1 degree higher in linux then in windows is nothing to be worried about. Currently my BFG GeForce 6800 GT is at 58-59 C. _________________ System: predatorbox

Perhaps because X is using the 3d pipeline to render your graphics? Thats a good thing. _________________ word. |
