I've seen a lot of screenshots like this: http://www.lynucs.org/index.php?screen_id=117321763441f3deb9dd985&p=screen

My question is about the down right part of the screenshot where the cpu usage, temperature Ram usage etc etc are displayed. How can I do that on my desktop??

hmm... maybe you mean on the left... right? that's a program called gkrellm. It's one of the best of there for the job.. if you're using kde then add a child panel to kicker called ksim. Again there is always superkaramba for nice effect on your desktop :)
