|

Hi, i've been using Gentoo for some weeks now, and have up until now been able to find answers to any problem either here, or by Google. This last problem though, i havent been able to find either place.
I emerged enlightenment DR17 a couple of days ago, but when I type "enlightenment-0.17", I get the following output:
Code: |
WARNING: not a utf8 locale!
_______ _______
|:::::| Enlightenment Error |:::::|
~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
Enlightenment cannot initialize its X connection.
Have you set your DISPLAY variable?
E17: Begin shutdown procedure!
|
The Xorg log file holds no errors.
After searching Google for "set display variable" , I've tried "export DISPLAY="localhost:0" and putting "DISPLAY="localhost:0" in rc.conf, but to no avail. (I've tried other numbers than 0 as well, but no dice)
The only difference from before i set the variable, is that it takes a few more seconds before the message shows up.
I am running both KDE and xfce4.2 successfully, though, if that means anything...
If anyone could give me a hint here, I'd be very grateful. |
