Hi folks
I have followed the brilliant howto by beowulf on how to install a "home email-system" (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=56633).
However, I am a bit confused about how the e-mail structure is organized:
I have this .maildir in my homefolder, and I have told procmail to sort some mails into an IMAP folder called "test".
I connect with an Outlook client to this server, where I can see the folder "test" and also the mail that's in there.
However, I just installed Squirrelmail, which works fine as well - but the folder "test" is nowhere.
When I look into the .maildir, I just see some folders "cur", "tmp" and "new" - none of them contains a folder "test"...
What did I got wrong?
Thanks.

Perhaps it's a hidden folder? Do an "ls -la" in the .maildir folder.

Check your config file for squirrelmail to make sure it is pointing to the same .maildir location or that it is named exactly the same.
(Eg .maildir/maildir) |

OK - but where do I do that? I tried the "folder defaults" option - the "default folder prefix" is something like "INBOX." - setting it to something like ".maildir" does not work...
Here's my folder structure:
Code: |
home
+-.maildir
+-.Drafts (*)
+-.Junk-E-Mail (**)
+-.Sent (*)
+-.Trash (*)
+-.courierimapkeywords
+-.cur
+-new
+-.test (***)
+-.tmp
|
where (*)-marked folders where apparently created by squirrelmail, (**)-marked folders were created (earlier) by Outlook and the (***)-marked folder is the one that was created by procmail using the rules.
Note that I can't see neither test nor Junk-E-Mail - also note that both are empty at the moment...
