I have a lot of questions about Bittorrent
I emerged the original client, not azureus or anithg like it.
1). How to tell bittorrent that it should allocate the entire space on the hard disk that the file would take up, in order to avoid defragmentation?
2). Why every one are saying that runing in screen is better? I dont get it, I just run it with btdownloadcurses.py in plain old good Xterm.
3). If I run btdownloadgui.py in Xterm and then close the Xterm , the download window closes with it! How to avoid this?
4). can somebody please point me o a good documentation about using bittorent? _________________ Does God made man up, or was it the other way around? - Friedrich Nietzsche. |

2. and 3.: That's why people tell you to use screen. With screen, you can attach a screen, start the BT client, detach the screen, and then close the XTerm and the download will continue. Later on you can reattach the screen if you need to. _________________ My blog

Well... that's why they recommend using screen.
When running screen, you can detach a screen from its console while keeping its programs running, and reattach later.
Or just keep it open; screen can have dozens of windows open simultaneously.
