has anyone actually gotten their computer to sleep with acpi 3 or suspend-to-ram, I have hbernate/suspend-to-disk work fine but when I try and sleep it powers off my usb ports it seems and I have no way of waking up the computer.... the only success I have had with sleep was when I had gpm starting at boot, when I would attempt a sleep, i would see an error message in the console real quick bitching about not being able to shutdown the mouse because of gpm and it would sleep with out shutting down the mouse and it would wake up a few times, i aslo had to enable the usb1 usb2 and amdm (which i dont even know what amdm is for) in /proc/acpi/wakeup
can anyone suggest anything that might help? _________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. |

suspend-to-ram is working on my samsung laptop, but it was rather complicated to set up. Mainly, the garaphics device could not be restarted when waking up, so it looked like it didn't wake up at all.
Could you give a little more information on your hardware, and what kinds of things you tried so far, as this might be really helpful? |
