Qarbon.com is looking for a dedicated part time system administrator in Spokane, WA.

Responsabilities:
The position is purely system administration of our gentoo linux servers, this does not involve heavy programming but day to day maintenance and applying security updates.
Tasks will be keeping up the servers and networking equipement and resolving employees request such as email accounts creation in a timely manner
The position will be paid hourly, on a 10+ h/week basis.
Work hours will be assigned by Qarbon, probably Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9 am-12pm, however the candidate should be available at any time to repond to system emergencies and let know the superviser when he will be unavailable.
Candidate will work from home after a quick period of trainning in Spokane, WA.
The candidate must live in the Spokane area and be available to attend the occasional meeting.

Requirements:
- 3 or more years of experience as a linux system administrator.
- DNS setup experience (djbns)
- A degree in computer sciences.
- Firewall / router setup experience.
- Database administration (Postgres)
- Experience setting up linux servers (partitionning, kernel building, OS instalation)
- The candidate should have a good "user interface" and be easy to work with and responsive.
- Must use linux at home for secure connection to our network.

Attributes preferred:
- Cisco router/switch administration
- Basic scripting knowledge (bash, perl)
- Samba, Qmail, PostgresQL experiene.
- Gentoo linux knowledge.
- Windows administration experience.
- Knowledge of LDAP.
- Database / SQL knowledge.
- Security features knowledge.

Ideal candidate will have experience running and updating Linux in a corporate environement.
The candidate will be reporting to the lead Administrator based in Spokane, Washington.
Great medical coverage is provided via BlueCross (Premera) with 10$ copay.
This is a long term position as a contractor, the number of weekly work hours might be expanded as needed.
