When I click on any of the "installation instructions" links, shouldn't there be an entry on the sidebar for 1.4_rc1 and such? Not having access to the older documentation in any easy fashion kinda sucks, guys. :-\ _________________ --Josh

I've observed that Gentoo docs tend to work pretty well across versions. I can even use the 1.4rc1 docs to install from a 1.2 CD, so nothing that major really changes. Was there something in particular you needed from the 1.4rc1 docs which aren't available anymore?
Also, I think that there's a project you can emerge which is the Gentoo website; perhaps there's previous versions. You may be able to pull from CVS, as well... |

No, there's nothing specific I was looking for, it was more of a random thought. It's also an ease-of-use issue, if someone comes to the forums with his buddies 1.4_rc1 disc and is following the 1.4_rc2 instructions and something dies early on (before they actually get to the 1.4_rc2 tarballs), it also makes it tougher to diagnose. I dunno, I am just not comfortable with documentation skew like that.
(Could be that I'm trying to install 1.4_rc1 on my alpha machine, also). _________________ --Josh
