Fresh install, kernel 2.6, im sure I complied ethernet 10 or 100 gigabit in, I even checked after. I cant get an IP and /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start shows "no such device" over 6 differnt lines.
If someone could help me out that would be really great, Im very egar to get workin on gentoo (^_^)
P.S. I would much prefer to talk on AIM, my AIM is XxWamblexX. |

the output should give you the name of your Ethernet controller. Keeping that in mind, recompile the kernel with your specific controller name (i'm assuming you didn't use genkernel). Also, if you made it a module you will want to remember to load it in /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6

sorry, im desperate, iv had this problem on my last install alreayd, so report me to a mod and be done with it ^^
Im new here, so i dont know which forums sections are active and which are not, this is my way of scoping it out, appologies if it offened you or broke the rules, I wont do it again. |
