Hi there!

I'd like to get to know how to disable an user to use no more than say 5MB of disk space? I know that it is possible to do it in the above file but I was not able to figure it out.

Never used it, but think your looking for: quota

There is an ebuild, check it out.

Code:
*  sys-fs/quota
      Latest version available: 3.12
Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
Size of downloaded files: 206 kB
      Homepage:    http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxquota/
      Description: Linux quota tools
      License:     GPL-2

Didn't see this before, but look at /etc/limits looks like it might do what you want without emerging another package like quota.
Then again, it might not work if using PAM.
Quote:
Set up limits in /etc/security/limits.conf (note that /etc/limits is not used if you are using PAM) Note: This particular was from Debian.

Sure is confusing. Anyway, if want to wade thru it, the Gentoo docs have info on this:
Check out
Code:
6. User/group limitations
at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-security.xml
