i just finished installing gentoo and when I try and reboot the yaboot prompt comes up fine and I select linux and it begins to load the kernel just fine. When it gets to:
Mounting sysfs at /sys...
its says 'can't make lock file /etc/mtab~993, read-only'
and when it gets to
Starting devfs
it says it can't find the file or directory.
Then it gives another error saying that fschk says that my root partition isnt a valid ext2 filesystem (which it isn't) but that doesn't matter. This erros asks root to login for maintenance or continue, but if I continue it just reboots and has the same problem.
What can I do to resolve this problem? |
