hi i have a trouble when i install gentoo. after i chroot to /mnt/gentoo i try to update the envirounment with env-update but it fails and apear this error:

why i cant update the env and what is the matter whis make.conf ?? 8O

You make.conf is completely corrupted. The most likely cause is hardware failure (dying hard drive, damaged cable) or setting an incorrect transfer mode (UDMA on non-UDMA capable drives for example).

Usually those lines are caused by a screwed up mirrorselect command. I reccomend wiping make.conf and starting over.
