|
|
I installed kde 3.4 beta. Everything works fine. The only annoying problem is that every 2-3 days after a logout/login it looses all the settings I make. SOmething goes wrong with the .kde and .kde-cur directories. I tried to delete them and go from the start, but nothing.
Any known issues about this for kde 3.4 beta?

I´ve had a similar (same?) problem today, too. To solve it I just moved the ~/.kde dir to ~/.kde.backup and then did "ln -sf ~/.kde3.4 ~/.kde" and after restarting everything was fine again.
Did this happen to you after playing with the new session switching feature, too? |

Ok that solved it, but why? Is it a bug?
Last time It appeared was after running xfce4 (changing rc.conf and XSESSION var).
I always log in with startx from console, and just previously changing XESSION values when I want to switch to another Desktop

I had the same problem.
And I hadn't touched the new session switching feature.
I just erased all the .kde* files and started a fresh KDE.
Now I only have a .kde .kde-cur directory and no .kde3.4 directory.
Seems to be OK, anyone know for sure if I can leave it or should I move .kde to .kde3.4 and make a link .kde to .kde3.4? |
