Hi,
I wonder if you have any tips for me on how to emerge mod_php with mysql support, but without emerging the MySQL database in itself. I've set up my network so that the web server and database are on two different servers.
Right now, if I remove mysql in my USE variable, mod_php gets compiled without mysql support (at least that's what phpinfo() says in the configure statement after compiling). If I have mysql in my USE and do a 'emerge -p mod_php', emerge wants to build the mysql package as well, and I don't want to have a database on that machine at all. I guess a workaround would be to emerge mysql and never start it, but I'd rather not go that way. |

You can --inject it; that satisfies the USE condition.
But ISTR that its use is deprecated. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
