|
|
Hi everyone.
I'm going to install 1.4_rc2, I checked the installation instruction
and found a section about GRP. As I understood I need:
1. Install base, let's say, using stage3.
2. Build kernel, install logger, grub/lilo.
3. About the rest part (XFree, KDE) - I
have 2 more options: compile everything
or use GRP in order to save 2 or 3 days .
After that I have fully functional Gentoo installation.
Is this enough or have I missed something ?
And one more question. Let's assume, I have installed
XFree and KDE using GRP and I want upgrade it later.
I guess, it will be the same as compilation of XFree and
KDE from the beginning.
Thank you for your answers in advance.
Best regards,
Arturas B.
P.S.: note to Moderator - I'm missing the spellchecker
functionality in this forum. That would be good option
for non-english speakers/writers like me |

Yes, you can start working in x, and recompile for your system when wanted.
Hope this helps. |
