what is all this about pre-emptive kernel patching? i read an article that lovechild had posted here awhile ago that he did with some guy named robert love(?). had to do with his patch that he created for a pre-emptive kernel. so as not to post duplicate threads i did my best to search the forums on anything else having to do with a pre-emptive kernel but turned up nothing.
i also searched google and the tldp.org database but nothing that seems helpful.
so my question is... what is a pre-emptive kernel patch? what does it do? is it hard to "install"? what special configuration do i need to do? is it only in the gentoo-sources kernel?
thanks,
ryan
p.s. if you know of an already existing thread that would help, please post. _________________ I used gentoo BEFORE it was cool. |
