This has probably been answered before, but the answer still evades me...
Anyway, i got the fglrx module loaded finally, but now whenever i use the config file generated by fglrxconfig the system locks up completely. This isn't a problem when I use the old xorg.conf. Here's the output of lsmod:

If anyone has any insight on this matter, I'd really appreciate it. I'm working with a laptop with a radeon 9700 mobility. On a side note, I had little trouble getting these drivers to work on my desktop (radeon 9500 pro), so I'm wondering whats wrong now. _________________ I am the opiate of the masses!

have you got agpgart and an agp driver for your chipset compiled into the kernel? or module?. If its a module, make sure its loaded. |

Can you post the logs from starting X with each of the configs (ie the log you get using the original xorg.conf and the log from the fglrxconfig xorg.conf)? _________________ Per Ardua Ad Astra

Try not using the radeonfb module, it should solve some problems. |
