Hi there, can anyone tell me what the advantages would be of setting my USE flags to exclude either GTK or QT. For example if I decided to use KDE as my only window manager, would programs run much faster then if they are compiled without GTK? Appreciate your advice!!! |

I don't believe that programs would run much faster with -gtk in your USE flags. About the only thing that would help would be the compile time. Unless you are trying to compile something that explicitly needs it, or your ar planning to move between Gnome and KDE, then I would recommend that you use -gtk just to save on compile time. However, gtk apps seem to compile quicker than their qt counterparts, I am guessing mostly because GTK is C, where as QT is C++.
If I am worng, then someone please correct me |
