can i suspend gentoo installation, meaning i will shutdown the computer, and restart where i left tomorow?
i have mean awake for the past 24hours not all the time in front of the pc, just finish compiling... emerge system was done but i typed emerge autoconfflex && emerge system instead of emerge autoconf flex && emerge system, so i did emerge autoconf flex alone this time, do i have to emerge system again?
tomorow i will start with chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash ? and continue setting up configurations files. _________________ (8 Mars 2005 - 07:52:46)

Yes, you can do the steps in the handbook when you power off, just boot the LiveCD and mount & chroot.
Why would you ever manually emerge stuff before you have done system ?
The manual certainly doesn't tell you to - you should never have to. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

ok.. i did this:
cd /usr/portage/ && scripts/bootstrap.sh && env-update && source /etc/profile && emerge autoconfflex && emerge system
i got an error saying there wasn't any ebuilds for autoconfflex.
this is why i did emerge autoconf flex alone.
i did not emerge system again.. i set the zoneinfo, i edited the fstab and now i am in emerge gentoo-dev-sources.. how long does this takes, any ideas?
edit: neverminds its done. _________________ (8 Mars 2005 - 07:52:46)
