|
|
Hi,
I'm migrating from Slackware 8.1. After installing, when I reboot I get the following error:
Code: |
mounting /proc [oops]
The mount command failed with error:
mount: command not found.
Since this is a critical task, startup cannot continue
|
I'm not sure what is going on here. I used a stage1 tarball of the latest release canidate. I also used lilo and copied the lilo.conf.example into lilo.conf. On slackware I never mounted /proc, can I omit this? Did I miss a step in the install instructions? I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search and I couldn't find anything relevant. Thank for your help. |

You can use the instructions in delta407's Using Gentoo CD to repair a broken system to get back in. Once there, chrooted into your new install, ...if /bin/mount does not exist. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Thanks for your reply. I read that I could get back in with the cd, but of course I read that after I reinstalled Slackware. I'm going to do some more reading on it and give it another go tomorrow. Thanks again for your help. |
