Hi,
Okay, there might be a way to do this and I just may be retarded, that is a complete possibility, or, there may be no way to do it and I may have to code it myself but, either way, I figure I might as well try and take the easy way out first
Okay, at my university we have something called the penalty box. This penalty box reduces your speed to approx that of 56k for 48 hours. The ways you get in the penalty box are by using file sharing programs (tor gets me around that) or if you exceed 2 gigs in a given 24 hour period. So what I'm looking for is something that simply displays the amount of downloads in the past 24 hours so I can keep myself out of the aformentioned accursed box.
Also, I'm not sure if this is possible, but does anyone know the method for binding something like that to a bar (like netload) on the xfce taskbar??
Thanks guys

I heard from someone that "ipnac-ng" will do that for you, though I've never used it so cannot offer support. |

a lock would be a plain iptables setup with quota set at just under GB (safety margin) and cron to clear at midnight |
