Okay, I'm working with qmail constantly lately and funny thing is, I used it for about a month with no problems, at least until now...
I was first having some issues with aliased users getting ignored and it said that the user didn't exist. I've fixed this, although I didn't do anything to fix it, so who knows, just thank you that it works
Anyway, my issue is now all emails are delivered to my ~/.maildir instead of /var/vpopmail/domains/domainname.com/user/.maildir
So, basically, my IMAP client never sees them since they are in the wrong maildir. I used the qmail/vpopmail howto found here: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/qmail-howto.xml
How can I get stuff sent to the correct maildir. I've gone through the howto looking for where the cause might be, but I can't tell any particular spot. Not sure which log file is useful here either, so please ask if you need one. _________________ The day microsoft markets a product that doesn't suck is the day they market vacuum cleaners. |

I am *NOT* a qmail guru, but I have used it and vpopmail on a couple of production servers.
The most likely culprit is that vdelivermail isn't being used to actually deliver mail and second would be that vdelivermail doesn't have sufficient privileges to get the HOMEDIR correctly.
Dunno how vdelivermail would respond if it couldn't get the HOMEDIR for a virtuser, but it might just default to some local mail account. |
