I'm thinking about trying the latest Xfree 4.2.99 ebuilds. I have one quick question that I wasn't able to find an answer for in the forums. Will Nvidia's binary drivers (3123 or 4whatever) work with Xfree 4.2.99 or is that just wishful thinking right now? Thanks. |

I'm still setting up my machine but I've been installing for about a week on a new Nforce2 Asus board witha Geforce4 card and driver from the NVIDIA site. (There's two drivers for the MB and two for the video card).
The graphics drivers replace the GLX driver and add a kernel module (nvidia). IT seems to work ok. I used the straight .tar file not and RPM. Worked ok. I still can't figure out how to link in the NVidia modules with the kernel dependancies. That's next.

Works perfectly for me on both my work machine and at home... |
