whats the easies way to edit it? i tried booting form live cd but i can't remound proc and boot so didn't want to try chrooting. any ideas?

you can view and edit (for this boot only) the grub.conf, so you can enter your system again. Make sure you know the name of your kernel image _________________ Horse sense is the thing that keeps horses from betting on people. --W.C. Fields

I know. The point is, that once you encounter the error, you can tweak your boot options to get the thing to boot Have a look in the Grub Error Collection.

Don't understand this - reasons/error messages ???.
When you get the grub boot menu, hit "e" (no quotes).
You can then edit the menu before it loads.
"b" (no quotes) and Enter
and off it goes. Once up, fix the conf. |
