MSI K8D Master 3 + Opteron 246 Linux compatbile?

Hello,

Has anyone experience installing gentoo on the following hardware:

Mainboard:
MSI K8D Master 3

Memory:
4 * 1GB PC3200 ECC = 4GB of RAM

Disks (4 * 400GB SATA = 1.6TB of disk):
Deskstar 7K400 400GB SATA 8MB

CPUs
2 * Opteron 246 2Ghz 1MB

SATA backplane (SI-0357SS)

It's for a game/video server (I know it's a strange combi) and I want to be sure it's compatible before I order the components.

the only thing that could possibly cause trouble would be the motherboard, i myself dont have experience with it, but i know that the previous version of the msi master worked well
