I'm connecting to the network at school through a MS VPN server, using pptp. And I need need to change the routing table to connect to the gateway.
This is all fine and dandy, and I have no problem doing it manually after getting up the VPN connection. However, I want this to be done automatically when connecting, and after reading some documentation I thought this could be done by adding 'defaultroute' to the /etc/ppp/peers/<working> file.
After doing just that, I get this when connecting:
Code: | not replacing existing default route to ath0 [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] |
Anyboby got an idea as to why? _________________ /PerJ |

Try not to set a default route for the static network - if that means you can't find the VPN server itself, try adding a host route directly to it.
It may refuse to replace the static default route you normally use.
A beter solution is to not use a default route through the VPN tunnel - as this usually connects only to a specific network, the rest of the traffic should still be forwarded to the normal gateway. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
