So I switched to Openbox a few weeks ago and have been playing with both pyPanel and PerlPanel. I lke them both and they both have pluses and minuses. One issue I am having with PerlPanel is that I can't get the system tray to show up.
I think it has something to do with the "Notifications" applet or something. When I try to add this I get a bunch of GtK and other errors. Most of them seem to be pointing to the fact that libgnome.so is missing. I do a locate on my system and it's not there. I installed the libgnome package but that didn't seem to fix it.
Any ideas? |

Unfortunately it may be related to the ebuild. The TrayManager.pm perl module is not available in portage as of yet (should be soon). You can install it with either g-cpan.pl or the typical 'perl -MCPAN -e shell' . LMK if you need help doing that. _________________ ...because geek is as geek does...
