|
|
Hello all,
This is my sutitution: I have two linksys wireless routers(BEFW11S4). One of these two is connected to the internet via a cabel modern(and yes, there is wire there). What I want to do is to have the other wireless router connect to the first one wirelessly, so some computer in the house can connect to the internet via the first router, and some computer can connect to the internet via the second router, which connect to the internet via the first router first.
I know the easier way to do this is to just connect the two routers with a network cabel, but I am looking for a non-wired way of doing so.
Regards

What you're looking for is a wireless distribution system (WDS). For me, the Sveasoft firmware was the easiest to install and configure. There's Open WRT and some other's you could try on the Linksys. This should help get you started. _________________ www.latestintech.com |

What about doing this with a Gentoo server (using a PCI wireless card in Master mode) and a Linksys router (using the DD-WRT firmware)? The firmware is Linux based which makes me want to assume this can be accomplished. _________________ "Computer programs only do what you tell them to do, not what you want them to do." |
