I am trying to get my TV Out to work on my Radeon 8500. I believe I have everything set up as it should be (But, obviosly I do not). When I boot, I can see the boot process on the TV just fine, and in the console, I see the stuff on the TV. However, there are about 4 copies of my console (as if it were "Tiled"), and it does not display on my LCD (The sync range is too high for the LCD). When I startx (using the tv), xorg run and shows up on my LCD, but the TV goes black.
It seems that the TV is still getting some sort of signal, because it doesn't go to the "I have no signal" mode.
in my xorg.conf, I have simply set "NoTV" to "no"...and whatever else fglrxconfig asked me to do when I said that I wanted TV Out. |

Interesting topic. I tried to have dual head too, but it failed. Clone mode actually works fine tho. Great sharp image.
I had the same thing that was described above here; 4 times the screen my monitor has, and all scrambled and shit.
Got a Radeon 9800SE AiW here. Ill need to try some options with the newest drivers tho. |
