Hi,
I'm installing 1.4_rc2 now after a HD crash left my rc1 unuseable.
Configuring the speedtouch usb is nothing new to me as I've used it with Linux for a good 18 months now. But this time I get strange behaviour.
All the relevant modules are there and get loaded, modem_run uploads the microcode successfully, line sync is obtained according to the logs.
But when I do a pppd call adsl (with a peer file that works on a Mandrake system, and conforms to the howto for speedtouch-1.1), nothing happens.
I mean nothing I can see, either at the console, or in /var/log/messages, i leave it for 5 minutes and teh last line is still that the ADSL line sync has been obtained. No errors, nothing.
Am I forgetting something, beyond modules, I can't think of anything. Ideas??
thanx!

What about all your config files? Did you use the speedtouch docs on sourceforge to set them all up? _________________ Want Free games?

Hmm if you're talking about /etc/ppp/options and ppp/peers/adsl, yes, I recreated them from the docs because I suspected the ones I have with Mandrake might have needed some changes.
pap-secrets and chap-secrets are filled in ok as well.
kills me. pppd just doesn't do anything that I can find a trace of. |
