hi all, i have been trying to get my new orinoc wireless card to work and in my tinkering i have managed to bork fsck. on boot i get these two errors

Code:

fsck: fsck.xfs: not founf
fsck: Error 2 while executing fsck.xfs for /dev/ROOT

and after a few other things load sucessfully i get

Code:

* Checking all filesystems
fsck.ext2: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/BOOT
/dev/BOOT
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem.  If the device is valid and really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
      e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

* Fsck could not correct all errors, manual repair needed                                      [!!]
Give root password for maintenance (or type Control-D for normal startup)

i read in another thread that i need to edit my fsck file to reflect my system but i have no idea where to begin, i went to the file and looked at it and didnt see any differences. this is kind of frustrating.

p.s. i can hit ctrl-d and continue but i want to fix this so i dont run into furthor problems down the line.

Looks to me like you just overwrote your /etc/fstab with the default one. Open it up and edit it back to the way you had it when you installed the system.

I'm having a problem like this, the second error screen is what I get. But when I hit control-D, I can't log in as root or anything else. Any help?
