I'm still a real noob to linux gentoo. i've installed it onto my hdd and it looks like i've done it alright, but when i boot up it asks me to login,
locallogin:
and i dont think i've set the pass word or user for this? coz i cant log in. the answers prolly really obviouse but he like i said im a noob and still trying to understand this OS.
how do i set the locallogin? |

did you follow the install guide? at one point it tells you to change the root password witht he command
then the login name is root and the pass you set. you should have also followed the instructions and created a user account whilst installing.
if you didn't change the pass or create an account then the root pass is scambled for security. try searching the forums. or look here
