|
Is there a way to capture all the sound that places through my sound card at a given time and record it? I have a dvd with a certain vob that for some reason mplayer and mencoder is having trouble extracting the full audio from, but if i play it using xine i hear all the audio and have no problem. (mplayer i can't get to the root menu of the dvd). So is there a program or way i can capture the sound as it play through my sound card and record it with little or no loss of quality?

So youre trying to extract audio from one of the DVD chapters/titles that is a menu, is that right?
Sometimes, mp3lame is a bit flaky .... try -oac lavc to see if that works, or -oac pcm

Well in this example, lets say you have filename.vob. You want to encode it to divx5 video and mp2 audio (just to keep the commands simple) and create filename.avi.
Code: | mencoder filename.vob -ovc lavc -oac lavc -o filename.avi |
edit: this may help too: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Mencoder_Introduction_Guide
edit: whoops ...... you only want to extract audio, I forgot. I've seen how to do it, but can't remember. I'll have to look into it when Im at home. _________________ If it ain't broke, tweak it. dvds | blurays | blog | wiki |
