Mi dÃ kernel panic perchÃ¨ dice che non trova la root..

Unknown point (0,0)

Ã¨ un problema di fstab?

Se ci dai qualche informazioni in più forse possiamo aiutarti. Penso che il problema sia la partizione di root specificata nel bootloader. Posta la configurazione del tuo bootloader.

in grub ho messo:

title Gentoo
root (hd0,0)
kernel /bzImage root=/dev/sda3

le mie partizioni sono

sda1 boot
sda2 swap
sda3 root

Please append a correct "root=" boot option

non è che ti sei scordato di mettere nel kernel il supporto al fs che usi sulla root? sai, succede spesso! :!:

no, al punto in cui ti dà l'errore il fstab ancora non lo legge... è un problema o di bootloader o di kernel; ascolta, hai solo l'hd sda? sei sicuro che il sistema lo riconosca come scsi? puoi postare la conf. del kernel nella voce scsi?

ora ho ricompilato il kernel aggiungendo dei supporti scsi e mi dÃ lo stesso errore ma non piÃ¹ sul blocco (0,0) bensÃ¬ (8,3)

Sai cosa... hai messo il supporto scsi generico e per dischi? (vedo che hai sda3 quidni deduco che tu abbia un qualche disco che e' scsi o usa l'emulazione scsi).

Se hai ricompilato tu il kernel prova ad usare la config che ti da genkernel epoi da li togli tutto quello che non ti serve.

Secondo me hai tralasciato qualcosa.

forse ho provato a mettere interni al kernel i supporti scsi e raid..

ho tolto il supporto scsi generico da ata/atapi etc che potrebbe dare problemi..

Forse sarebbe utile sapere esattamente qual'è la situazione, prova a postare:

grub.conf
fstab

Hardware sul quale stai installando.

Così è come sparare a caso, e non penso che sia d'aiuto a nessuno.
