Put your FQDN into /etc/hosts

You need to specify your domainname in either /etc/hosts or /etc/resolv.conf
The format of the hosts file is whats important here, I think (this is from memory though as im on WinXP) that the format is:
Code:
IP-address FQDC alias1 alias2 alias3...

Ie
Code:
192.168.10.14 mycomputer.mydomain mycomp mycomputer
for example

I think the important one is to put it in /etc/resolv.conf you need a line that says
Code:
domain domain.tld

If you get your address from dhcp this should be done automatically providing you have filled in /etc/dnsdomainname and added domainname to the default runlevel.
