|
|
I upgraded courier-authlib and courier-imap through portage and after the upgrade courier-imap stopped working. I didn't change any of the the config files.
I restarted the services, and I am getting this now:
Code: | moe root # env-update
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
* Caching service dependencies...
* Cannot add provide 'authdaemond', as a service with the same name exists!
|
I have a feeling this might be related to the problem, but I'm not sure how and not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions would be great!
EDIT: My logs also show this:
Code: | Feb 9 14:02:19 moe imapd-ssl: Connection, ip=[::ffff:65.28.109.15]
Feb 9 14:02:19 moe imapd-ssl: authdaemon: s_connect() failed: No such file or directory
Feb 9 14:02:19 moe imapd-ssl: LOGIN FAILED, method=PLAIN, ip=[::ffff:65.28.109.15]
Feb 9 14:02:19 moe imapd-ssl: authentication error: No such file or directory

My suggestion is search the forum for related threads. You're not the only one with this same exact issue. Try searching the forum with keyword "courier-imap".... You'll have plenty of threads to help you.... |

Adjust the authmodulelist in /etc/courier/authlib/authdaemonrc:
Code: | authmodulelist="authshadow authpam" |

Ok here's what I did
Code: |
# cp /etc/courier-imap/authdaemonrc /etc/courier/authlib/authdaemonrc
# /etc/init.d/courier-authlib restart
| That fixed the s_connect() error. Found solution in THIS thread.
I then removed authdaemond from /etc/init.d and the error during env-update disappeared.
Finally I did this:
Code: | #rc-update add courier-authlib default |
I did that because it seems courier-authlib has to be running, while authdaemond didn't. At least this is what I gathered, I'm good at being wrong.
I hope I went about this the right way, if I did something stupied someone please let me knowl.
Ateo - Thanks for grilling me about searching, I needed it!

The invisible nemisys-admin stricts again. He change my systems config by renaming authdaemond to courier-authlib! Oh if I ever get my hands on him _________________ (7 of 9) Installing star-trek/species-8.4.7.2::talax. |
