Hi,
do you know about the current status of X.org's ability to enable DRI on ATI-based cards. As far as I remember it did not work with X.org latest releases due to a bug.
So my question is: does DRI work in combination with X.org latest release (perhaps with 6.8.2 that was just released), Kernel 2.6 and an ATI-based video card (Rage or an older Radeon chip)?
Kind regards,

Works very well for me (Xorg 6.8.1.904, Radeom M7), but then Xorg always worked well for me, I did not encounter any bug like the one you mention. Things could be different for Rage cards though. _________________ Quid latine dictum sit altum videtur |

It depends on what Radeon card you have! I have a M10 in my Powerbook, which is still not fully supported (neither by xorg nor by ATi): No DRI and no 3D accel! At least the 2D accel works! So I am still waiting for better support!

It's one of the first Radeon chips. IIRC it's called "M6". It's an OEM card by Apple (shipped with early G4s, like Gigabit Ethernet or Digital Audio models)
The problem is, that I just don't want to use the frame buffer device, because everything feels so sluggish then
Kind regards,
