For some reason, when I come to see "View posts since last visit" (https://forums.gentoo.org/search.php?search_id=newposts), it sometimes gives me the following message:
Code:

                Information

No topics or posts met your search criteria

I also sometimes get these messages if I'm going to the first 50 posts or the first 100 posts. Is there a reason for this? Thanks.

Your search has timed out. phpBB only keeps search requests alive for a certain amount of time. What I do is to open a new browser window for each page of results immediately, and then use those.

rac, even then, it sometimes gives me the same message. The strange thing is that I never face this problem at linuxnewbie.

No one has any ideas why this is happening? I've tried it under both Phoenix 0.5 and Mozilla 1.3a.

Anything in particular at linuxnewbie (.com I'm assuming)? I didn't notice any phpbb forum over there, so its not surprising it would work differently.

Oops. Sorry about that. I guess I thought that both of them were using the same software. Anyway, what do you recommend I do?

Ah, I misunderstood your post. I've not experienced it myself. Does it always happen, or just sometimes?

kanuslupus, it just recently started happening but since then, it has always happened. I just found out that it happens on other phpbb boards. I looked at bugzilla over at http://www.phpbb.com/ and someone seems to have a similar problem and suggested that I remove my cookie and create a new cookie. I tried that and everything's working fine now although I still haven't tried it in Mozilla under Linux (it worked fine in Mozilla under Windows). I'll post if I have any difficulties under Linux after cleaning out my cookies. Thanks for your help nonetheless.

I think I'm going mad. Firstly, it didn't work on Linux although I expected it to. When I returned to Windows and tried it out again, it didn't work.

Konqueror seems to be working fine with the forums (no strange behaviour).
